DMV Native Sarina Bites Back on Recent Stylish & Spooky Single
Upcoming music star Sarina is a DMV native, born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. She
has released two projects in 2020 alone, her first called Glass Paradise and the most recent a
full-length venture called Come to the Light. Alchemical Records is thrilled to introduce you to
this powerhouse artist and her most recent single, “Bite Back.”
We recently covered Sarina’s lovely song “Love I Like,” which is accompanied by a gorgeous
little retro video. Sarina continues the retro theme with “Bite Back.” The vibe mimics the
Scooby-Doo cartoons or the title sequence of Frankenstein, complete with old-fashioned title
sequences and spooky vibes. It’s the perfect song for this Halloween: a mixture of gorgeous
October visuals and an anthem for standing strong. “Made my decision / don’t need to think
twice / eyes full of fire and heart made of ice,” she sings, promising to be the kind of woman who
bites back when she is treated poorly.
Wes Anderson Brings “Red Cup Dub” to Help Pick Your Head Up
Wes Anderson is an artist that we just recently learned of. He has been playing guitar for over 20 years, handling lead guitar duties for the Chicago band Shanghai Superstars (2010 – 2012), Fiction 20 Down (2012 – 2015), Big Infinite (2015 – 2018 ), and now finally branching out on his own venture. Through previous bands, he’s toured the country, won Maryland’s Breakout Artist of the Year, charted on iTunes, released 1 LP, 1 Live Album, 1 EP, 1 Mixtape, 4 singles, had one single become a semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition, and received endorsements from Dean
Markley Strings and Paul Reed Smith Guitars.
As time has passed, the itch to carve his own path and put out the music he’s always wanted to became irresistible. Something 100% true to his style and diverse taste in music. With that, he is now releasing singles under his own name covering a wide range of styles and featuring talented guest musicians on each track. Every song starts with just a guitar and Wes. Through collaborations, the songs then take on a new life of its own, and have included P-Nut (311), Lyrics Born, Ballyhoo!, and Kosha Dillz.
His newest track is called, “Red Cup Dub” and it has an interesting feel to it that combines both reggae, and some elements of EDM. It also features ¡MAYDAY! and Trey Miller. The hook is what stands out to us the most, as it rings, “I just need my red cup, red cup, when I’m fed up, fed up, it’s the only thing that’s gonna pick my head up, head up.” Check out the track below.
