The Alchemist
Deathstroke DMV is an artist from Gaithersburg. He has been making music for about 12 years now mainly as a producer,yet lately he is trying to find his own voice. He has produced for Lil B, Soulja Boy, Bexey, Washington D.C. rapper Xanman, and Lil Xelly from Rockville. His influences are very mixed from many sub genres of hip hop and other forms of pop and alternative music.
When asking him about his genre he told us the following, “I feel my current style is much in the vein of guys who have tried to fuse hip hop and alternative music in the past but I feel the difference is that I have perspective on the producer side and artist side of things. I’ve always been influenced by the underground and early SoundCloud rappers dating back to around 2011-2014, my sound is very inspired by artists like Lil peep, Suicideboyz, bones and many other artists in that sub-genre.”
His newest track is called Right Now, and we can see can definitely hear the influence artists like Lil Peep, Suicideboyz and others have had on his music. The production is very impressive, as he combines a very catchy sample with some hard hitting 808’s to be sure to get the listener moving! The high-hats were the part of the production that really stood out to me, as it brought a ton of energy to the track. Check out the track below.
