Ryan Wright. What can we say? She’s pretty amazing. Ryan just released her latest single, “Happy Birthday (Go Fuck Yourself).” It is currently available worldwide on your favorite streaming platform and was released via Handwritten Records. The song is a sassy, tongue-and-cheek birthday greeting to a cheating ex. The lyrics are full of dark wit and raw honestly, which are supported by genre-defying sound, borrowing a little from pop, EDM, and hip-hop. It just begs one question: who in their right mind would cheat on Ryan Wright? We at Alchemical Records agree with Wright’s sentiment on where this lad should go.
If you have not checked out Ryan Wright, now is the time. This Northern Virginia native hails from influences such as The Cars, Roy Orbison, and The Smiths to The Killers, The 1975, and Lana Del Ray. We even hear a bit of Phoebe Bridgers in her voice. Wright is an original with a sound that is captivating, weird in a good way, and honest.
Wright grew up in the studio, so it is no surprise that music runs through her veins. Wright began writing songs and performing at 11 years old, however she has been around the studio since she was three years old. Her dad is also a musician and a music producer out of Northern Virginia.
