Go check out Charlottesville-based band Free Union at Brambly Park After Dark this weekend! The band’s sound is not distillable, it’s ever-evolving music is rooted in soul and incorporates rhythm and blues, rock, and pop into its sound. They found themselves in the public eye after their debut performance at the 2019 Lockn’ Music Festival, and have been releasing originals and covers ever since, even throughout quarantine. Their music encourages listeners to acknowledge the harsh realities in the world around them, but to always keep searching for joy and hope.
