Post-punk, art-rock band Outerloop is bringing a new sound to the DMV music scene with their new songs “El Control” and “Seeping Mirrors.”
These are the Northern Virginia-based group’s first recorded tracks. A standout aspect is the bilingual lead vocalist Taisha Estrada, who melds the art-rock sound we know and love with her classically trained Latin voice. The combination of sweet vocals and spicy background makes the group’s music really stand out.
“El Control” is in Spanish, and the track discusses the loss of control that heartbreak and longing bring. “Seeping Mirrors” explores the feelings of redundancy and insecurity that creep into an unstable relationship, eventually consuming it. Both songs offer a sonic burn that cuts to the core.
Fans of Peter Gabriel or Yes should check out this innovative band for their unique and satisfying sound.
