With cool and crunchy vocals paired with scintillating instruments, Golden Browne’s tunes use compelling music to address social issues.
The D.C.-based group is composed of Jenna Camille and the production trio John E. Daise, Jason “BrotherSpanky” Edwards, and Hayling Price. The group released “Bright Moments,” one-minute quarantine jams, going on to release two singles this year — “My Mama Said” and “Erasure.”
Golden Browne’s latest single discusses the “Erasure” of marginalized and historically low-income communities through gentrification. These lyrics sum up the powerful message of the song,
“You love to take up all the credit / But it was me that helped and don’t you forget it / Erasure, but I won’t take it no more.”
Fans from Kanye West to The Foreign Exchange would enjoy the music of Golden Browne. With beautiful music that highlights their important message, Golden Browne is sure to be a band to watch.
