“Ketamine Tea,” Lord Baltimore’s latest music video, brings listeners back in time with its chill vocals and retro visuals.
Lord Baltimore- ironically based in Towson, Md.- has released music since 2018. This newest single is lifted from Lord Baltimore’s upcoming EP, “Angel.” “Angel” is to be their most personal collection of songs, tapping into a side of their musical inspiration they have yet to explore.
About the song, they say, “This song is about phone sex, something that I’m sure we’ve all gotten quite accustomed to after our time in quarantine. I wrote it after a spontaneous night with a friend of mine. In the past, I didn’t write many songs about my sexuality. Internalized religious doctrine has a way of making people late bloomers. I was saving myself till marriage until I was 18, and I didn’t learn how to properly flirt until I was 22. However, after writing this song, I can safely say that the next EP will be filthy.”
The video for “Ketamine Tea” is grunge-y and honest. It is stylized to look like it was recorded on a camcorder, and the direction feels authentic. The style of the video matches perfectly the alternative indie pop backing.
