BRASSIE at Sofar DC
Go check out local superstar BRASSIE this week at Sofar DC’s special event! Like so many nowadays, BRASSIE is a TikTok frequent flier. Unlike most other users however, this amazing young woman has used the platform to launch her own independent rise in the DMV Music Scene. After watching Netflix’s “The Social Dilemma” about a year ago, she immediately penned the lyrics to her song “friends like these” – a garage rock-inspired anthem about the harmful nature of social media, online data companies, and fake friends. The clip was uploaded to TikTok, and quickly went viral. Its success was followed by demo uploads to YouTube and a few more viral TikTok clips, which generally gained so much attention that producer Elijah Cruise teamed up with her to create a proper studio version for streaming services. Now, after a long wait and lots of hard work, BRASSIE is ready to release her masterpiece. “friends like these” will be dropping on all of your favorite streaming services on October 22nd! Don’t forget to attend her celebratory concert this week, then keep an eye out for her song dropping the very next day!
