Baltimore, Md.-based artist Modern Nomad’s latest album – There It Is, There You Are – offers jangly, sun-soaked tunes.
Modern Nomad is the recording project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Tom McLean. In 2013 at just 16 years old, he was inspired by the “jangly psychedelic pop sounds of The Beatles, and deep atmospheric grooves of the likes of Tame Impala and Toro Y Moi.” Since then, he has released three albums and dozens of singles, garnering tens of thousands of monthly listeners.
The lead single off of the album to be released on October 29, “Electrify,” explores the struggle of a long-distance relationship. The tunes are light and catchy, classic indie-pop rock with a psychedelic twist.
“A lot of these songs are based around my relationship, which was long distance at the time. The ups and downs and the joy of seeing my partner face to face,” describes McLean.
