San Diego-native band Buddha Trixie has released their new music video for “Pitbull Goes to the Club.” The single, released on February 4, is their first since 2020.
Buddha Trixie consists of three childhood friends – Andrew Harris, Daniel Cole, and Dennis Moon – who started writing and playing music from their garage; they later met pianist and guitarist Kenzo Mann in college at UC Davis.
The video, directed by Mitchell Harris, was shot in Las Vegas and features a man dressed as Elvis exploring the strip. The video is a great accompaniment to the song, adding a humorous and entertaining storyline to the already energetic and fun single.
Produced by The Frights’ Richard Dotson in an airbnb cabin in the woods of Oregon, this single is a wonderful indie tune. Aside from the funny title, the interesting bass, guitar, and reverberated vocals makes this single an unmissable one in the indie-garage genre.
“We wanted to write a song that emulated the swagger, danceability, and larger-than-lifeness of the beautiful Mr. Worldwide himself… Pitbull,” said Buddha Trixie about the single. “But if his lawyers start coming after us, then it’s a song about a dog going to the club.”
