Hailing from Shropshire, England on the border of Wales, chill-pop singer-songwriter Sabine has just released her latest single about unrequited love, “I didn’t mean to.”
From the intro to the final chorus, “I didn’t mean to” introduces a number of changes, with various instruments seemingly coming and going, while highlighting Sabine’s commanding use of melody and harmony. Drawing inspiration from female singer-songwriters such as Joan Armatrading, and Gabrielle and Colbie Caillat, Sabine’s sound also exhibits influences of folk and country, but the genre lines continue to blur with the reveal that Sabine is currently working on a forthcoming collaboration with Atlanta based Ci Majr (originally from Chicago), who has made a name for herself through her unique fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and indie-pop.
Sabine’s “How Do You Sleep At Night,” released in March, was featured by RGM Magazine, The Other Side Reviews, and Conversations with Her. Previous releases would become Record of the Week and Record of the Month on BBC Introducing Radio Shropshire in both 2020 and 2021, and Sabine continues to increase her exposure within the U.S. by being featured in California’s Music Connection magazine and traveling to Nashville and parts of Texas for various additional forthcoming collaborations with artists here on this side of the pond.
With its robust production and performance, “I didn’t mean to,” the first single by Sabine in 2022, promises to elevate her artistry to new levels and continue to attract new fans, this publication included.
