Miami-based hip hop artist Cartier Dré has released his new single “No Sleep,” introducing his new era of working hard and playing harder. This is Dré’s debut single launching him into the center of the hip hop/pop genre.
Inspired by artists like Kanye West, Drake and Kid Cudi, Cartier Dré utilizes these inspirations clearly in his musical production. These inspirations have not been the only things to influence Dré’ as a musical artist – in school, he received D-1, D-2 and D-3 offers for baseball which led him to being accepted at one of the nations most respected Ivy League schools. He is no stranger to the rise and grind routine.
Somehow, the rapper has found a new lens to view the usually overdone idea of working hard; “No Sleep” is a track that boasts work ethic and subsequent success, which is a clear reality in Dré’s future. Rapping in both Spanish and English, the track is an addictive hip-hop track–Dré’s unique vocal cadence and pop-inspired melody adds an energizing layer to his single, making it a powerful debut single.
“Sleep is for the weak, I’ve been grinding everyday each and every week / I got money on my mind my favorite color’s green, I’m countin up this paper and I’m eatin up this cheese.”
