San Diego-native band Creature Canyon has released the official visualizer for their new single “Faded Fire,” a reflection of a relationship that is slowly burning out. This is the band’s fourth single of the year, following the release of their previous singles, “Mirrors,” “Pressure,” and “Simulator.”
The California pop-rock band encapsulates the fiery energy of alternative rock with waves of modern psychedelia with the help of members Austin Steele, Ryan Amyot, Kyle Victoria, Aaron Lund, and Luc Fralic. Known for their captivating live performances, Creature Canyon has received recognition from Billboard, Paste, and many other publications. The band has worked with producer Christian Lum (Private Island), recording engineer Mike Schuppan (Foster The People, Young the Giant), mixing engineer Jordon Silva (Vance Joy, The Avett Brothers), and mastering engineer Brian Lucey (Cage The Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys) on their new record.
The video features Creature Canyon vocalist Austin Steele in a bright, multicolor filter; the single is a groovy production with elements of funk and R&B even as the lyrics hint at the rift in the relationship.

We’ve been burning out slowly
Sure as hell
Won’t make it through the night
Steele shares with us “At the time we were writing ‘Faded Fire’ I was contemplating my relationship. Despite us still having strong feelings for one another, we felt like strangers living completely separate lives. It wasn’t because of any particular reason, it just felt that our passion for each other had seemingly faded.”
