Dream pop aficionado, Josh Fudge, shows off effortless grace and coolness in the new synth-soaked single “TECHNICOLOR” which is also the title track off his debut album. You can almost see the swirling kaleidoscope of color with the opening sample as it pulls you through a tunnel of synthesized sound.
On the other end of that tunnel opens a world of fantastic vibrance and electronic beats. “It feels like time flies by every time I close my eyes” Fudge sings before the chorus. As he begins to “dream in technicolor”, we dive into another musical break where big neon laser synth dance around with a flick of the wrist.
Using a softer approach with catchy pop hooks, Josh Fudge dives right into a psychedelic pool of 80’s pop throwback that feels kin to the funky sounds of Chromeo or Cherub. The whole composition melds perfectly in a nice slow and sensual jam that revels in the joy of synesthesia – where sound and color collide in fantastic effect.

Charlie Maybee is a dancer, musician, educator, and writer based in Charleston, South Carolina who currently teaches with the Dance Program at the College of Charleston. His primary work as an artist is with his performing collective, Polymath Performance Project, through which he makes interdisciplinary performance art that centers tap dance as the primary medium of expression and research. He also currently plays rhythm guitar for the Charleston-based punk band, Anergy, and releases music as a solo artist under the name Nox Eterna.
