“Adios” is the newest single from new country music project Hematite. Set for release on February 10, the second single is leading up to their debut EP “Speak of the Devil” set for release on March 3.
Hematite, a duo of rock scene veterans Davey Muise (Vanna) and Andrew Gaultier (He is Legend), are joining forces “to turn country music upside down.” Influenced by both metal and country, the new project is focussing on combining the best of the genres.
Their music video for “Adios” reflects this focus, with a dark aesthetic supported by gothic but true country imagery. The single itself is hauntingly rough and tough with lyrics that harken back to Wild West narratives, perfect to accompany a ghost story told by a campfire.
“”Adios” was the first or second song Andrew and I sat down with. He sent over an older demo version and by the time I had vocals on it, he’d already had a sicker version in my inbox,” wrote the pair. “To me, it’s where it all started, where the vibes hit me and I was taken into this new journey. I’m excited to see the feeling ‘Adios’ gives folks who listen.”
