Stockholm-native Amanda Alexander and VAAAL have released their first collaboration with their single “I don’t talk about you.” The single is Alexander’s eighth single since her debut in 2014 with “The Chain.” Alexander and her fellow collaborator, VAAAL, met in LA years ago and have been building the song to where it is now during Amanda’s trips to LA.
David (VAAAL) has been working as a composer and producer for film, TV, video game, and trailer music (Ad Astra official trailer, The Punisher, Call of Duty, Billie Eilish, etc.) as well as in pop production. Last year, Alexander signed a global publishing deal with BMG; this year, she stepped up behind the scenes and started her own record label called “red panda.”
The track is a true masterclass in pop music – with Alexander’s softer vocal abilities, VAAAL’s production quality, and the poetic nature of the song’s lyrics, the song easily lends itself a spot next to any pop mogul. “I don’t talk about you” is about the love someone feels even after the relationship has ended. A quote that encapsulates the song’s message is one from Jane Austen’s Emma: “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.”
