Like a race-car without the fast speeds;
Maserati missing car keys.
Toxic relationships are like a racing car going off the tracks in alternative rock band Anarbor’s new single, “Bad Love.” The Phoenix, Arizona-based band has released this track in preparation for the release of their new album this year.
The band, consisting of lead vocalist and bassist Slade Echeverria and guitarist Danny Stravers, has known each other since they formed the band in junior high in 2003. Their first big break came when they wrote the themes for Cartoon Network’s “Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins”, ESPN’s SportsCenter, Good Day L.A. and MLB Network Countdown. After writing and releasing multiple EPs and albums, Anarbor is preparing to release their fourth full-length album this September, Love & Drugs.
80’s inspired chords and layered vocals are the focus of the track’s sound–while the lyrics explore how external influences can ruin the dynamics of a relationship, the upbeat and catchy beat makes this single a perfect “crying on the dance floor” tune.
“‘Bad Love’ tells the story of a co-dependent, toxic relationship as it falls apart,” said Stravers. “Drug use, throwing the blame where it doesn’t belong, and turning one’s back in a time of need leads to a difficult conversation that needs to be had; ‘I think I’m through with you.’”
