Deathroe Kudos has released a new sentimental single about love, “Organ Donor”. This is the band’s debut lead track, released alongside “So Much More”. It’s simultaneously badass, to be quite honest.
The unapologetic Bromley band has conjured a meaningful track using “organ donor” as a metaphor signifying how they will give whatever they can to whomever they love. It begins with strong, enticing guitar and percussion loops that draw you into its sound. Complete with gritty vocals singing about themes of trust and promises.
Produced and mixed by Paul Tipler and mastered by John Davis at Metropolis Studios, London, the track is definitely a relatable summer anthem. Fans of Frightened Rabbit, The Police, and Jimmy Eat World will love it.
“Organ Donor was born after a conversation between singer Olly and his doctor friend after discussing an apprehension of putting his corneas up on his donor ID list. The doctor described how he felt a joy in the idea that after he passes, that his eyes could live on to see things that he had not whilst alive himself. This poetic look on it convinced Olly to add his corneas to the list of organs he is willing to donate should he meet an untimely demise.”
At first glance the song may seem somewhat gruesome. Instead, it is as highly thought-provoking and creative as the band is unique.
“Coming from a span of musical backgrounds of playing in folk, metal and synth wave groups, the influences of this collective have come together to make this hybrid genre that can only be described as alt-rock. It is because of this variation of genres between songs, that the band will be releasing two tracks as their debut as an A and a B side to show off the variation between their tracks.”
“Organ Donor” is side A, with the heavier song “So Much More” to go out as a B side.
