Dublin-based artist Dorota Konchevska has opened her new era of music with her music video for “Gold Goes Out.” Directed by Jakub Cyryl Grabarczyk, the music video features the jazz singer-turned-multi genre artist and producer singing the catchy new single and running through a field illuminated with a bright pink glow.
Konchevska entered the music industry as a jazz singer, using her vocals and electronic techniques as the focal point of her performance. She became more involved in producing and composing with electronics in live performances; she has also worked with video art and mixed media installations, some of which have been commissioned by numerous art institutions and international art festivals.
The idea for the “Gold Goes Out” music video formed when Dorota took a refuge in the forest cottage at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic; it sprouted from an evident desire to accept the continual change that the past few years have presented, and reconnecting with the unstoppable force of nature.
“Gold Goes Out” is an amazingly interesting and ever-impressive look into Konchevska’s mind during the pandemic. The synths provide a reliable foundation for the song, constantly coming back to the classic feel that the track elicits. The bass produces a warm and encompassing, but dark nature to the song. Konchevska’s vocals pours a hopeful contrast to the dark of the song, making it a cinematic experience.
