“Why do I feel so insane?” That’s a question posed by Washington D.C. rapper, Fru in the single “So Crazy” from his forthcoming eighth studio album, 1980, but it’s a question many of us asked ourselves during the pandemic, during the national upheaval of partisan politics, and during a time when the world was reminded that racism is still a present-day issue with the murder of George Floyd and subsequent growth of the Black Lives Matter movement. The official music video for the track shows Fru in his home with snippets of various news headlines matching the tone of concern in Fru’s voice and lyrical journey through his thoughts and emotions. It’s an extremely personal video that many listeners and viewers will relate to as Fru uses the platform of hip-hop to dive into concerns over finances and health & well-being in a truly intimate experience.
