D.C.-based artist Husam has recently released his comforting new single, “Harm’s Way”.
“‘Harm’s Way’ was inspired by my relationship with my sisters,” says Husam. As the eldest, he says he was raised to protect them. “They come to me only when things are really severe, crying and looking for guidance and support. I wrote this song talking to them, letting them know that I’ll be there at any moment and that I would protect them.”
A dreamy organ invites us to listen to Husam’s reassurance; the first words we hear being, “You can always cry on my shoulder, confess to me your darkest fears.”
His passionate vocals continue, and the catchy repetitive chorus reminds us of Husam’s message, words we always want to hear, “I’ll always be there for you whenever you need me.”
In this new song, Husam finds the beauty that comes along with pain. “I also acknowledge that I cannot get rid of their pain, that is something they’ll have to address internally. But I would be there for them,” he says.
Husam embraces listeners with open arms.
