Indigo Boulevard’s “Downhill” Climb

The Alchemist

From “running through the Main Street” to “sneaking over fences” to “driving through the mountains,” Downhill is a collage of moments drawn from each of our first-semester experiences. It’s also about finding the bridge (no pun intended) from the joy, chaos, and confusion of being a free-spirited high school graduate, to the mythical “real world.”

Falls Church natives, Indigo Boulevard wrote this song together after being spread across the country for college. The lyrics explore expectations of growth and maturity, changes, college, and independence. This track with bright vocals and a very catchy chorus would fit perfectly in a coming of age film and great for young adults to listen to as they explore a new chapter. For the older listeners that experienced their first semester of college years ago, it transports you to a time of naiveness, new found independence, trying new things, taking risks, and the highs and lows of life as a new college student. Fans of artists and bands like Echosmith, Bleachers, Taylor Swift, Beach Bunny, and Ricky Montgomery should be sure to check them out!

This track has been added to our Alchemical Weekly Spotify Playlist. Check it out!
