Dream-pop artist Jake Huffman has recently released his new single “Giving It a Try;” this is the first single preceding Huffman’s upcoming EP “Adderall & Whiskey,” set for release in April.
Jake Huffman brings a plethora of knowledge as an artist to his current music releases; since his band’s (McLovin’s) cover of Phish’s “You Enjoy Myself” went viral on Youtube at 14 years old, Jake became well-acquainted with the rock music scene, sharing the stage with Blink-182, Foster the People, BB King, and The Flaming Lips. On top of his career as a musician, Huffman is a talented composer and lyricist, writing songs for Sesame Street and artists like Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges. He also became a certified music producer from Berklee College of Music during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Huffman’s self-produced single “Giving it a Try” is an incredible pop song that invokes a feeling of freedom through finally fulfilling a dream. Mixed by Andrew Oedel and mastered by Brian Lucey, the song clearly illustrates Huffman’s own unique story through his lyrics and the energy the music brings. His inspiration from rock music shows in the production, but gives it a more modern and dream-pop take.
Jake will finally get the chance to perform his new EP, including “Giving It a Try” as he hits the road in late spring of 2022.
