If there’s one thing we really resonate with, it’s bands that take their music seriously and their persona(s) a little less seriously. A good match for ‘The World’s Most Okayest Band,’ Lacklustre, hailing from Northern Virginia and comprised of Tim Barnett (vocals, bass), James Barnes (drums), Gary Cantrell (vocals, guitar), and Sam Jones (guitar).
Their debut EP, All Downhill From Here comes complete with lounge chair, because impromptu naps are a rock and roll requirement when you’ve consumed “One Beer Too Many,” or filled up on “Tater Tots and Neck Chops,” or our personal favorite: starting off your “Roadtrip” by ‘passing around the Cheetos.’
True story, but all of these real-life examples of adulthood also make for great metaphors, and you won’t be disappointed with the band’s chops (there we said it again). All Downhill From Here (recorded, mixed, and mastered at Mixtape Studios with Jarrett Nicolay.) is an obvious homage to Lacklustre’s various influences in Americana, Punk, Garage Rock, and Classic Country, blended together into a rock & roll milkshake that your whole family will want to share with you (but you order one for everyone instead because you wanted your own).

He is best known as the frontman for Washington DC area Alternative Rock band YellowTieGuy, as co-founder of Capitol Groove Collective, and increasing the exposure of artists on a global scale through his work with Alchemical Records.
