Washington DC-based hip hop artist Marc 2Ray is back with his newest single “Tik Tok Tik;” the single comes from his upcoming album, set for release later this year.
Performing and releasing music since 2015, Marc 2Ray also works as an educator. His music is being used to educate students at schools such as St. Petersburg College, Montgomery College, and more. The rapper has performed at festivals such as A3C as well as rallies in Times Square, outside The White House, and more.
With an incredibly catchy backing track, Marc 2Ray raps about the desire for fleeting fame on social media over creating authentic art. Mixed by award winning hit record producer, Chris “Von Pimpenstein” Carter (Lady Gaga, Drake, Rihanna), the single sends a thought-provoking message, while also being musically engaging.
“It highlights the importance of an artist taking the time to create thought-provoking content (which then in turn builds longevity) while also commenting on the “ticking clock” of artists who prioritize chasing temporary clout on social media (like Tik Tok) while neglecting their craft.”
