“Help Me Understand / Mentiras no Olhar” is a crossover collaboration between American pop-rock artist based in Washington D.C., Maryjo Mattea, and Brazilian engineer/producer/musician, Rogério Naressi. The song is a bilingual tale of lovers’ estrangement. Inspired by bossa nova rhythms and instrumentation, Mattea and Naressi share the heartbreak and frustrations associated with the dissolution of a relationship.
