If you were to search for Megan Leigh on your favorite music platform just three years ago, you would have been out of luck. Within the past two years you would have needed to see this Frederick, MD area musician performing backing vocals in 2018 with Silver Spring musician, Eli Lev, or with Baltimore’s The Henchmen. A co-write and co-performance with Eli Lev would result in “The Longest Night of the Year” which reached the Top 20 in the US Folk DJ charts in 2019. They would eventually solidify their songwriting and performing partnership as the duo, Wild Whispers, and together they would release “Icarus Rising” in September 2020 as well as Leigh’s debut as a solo artist, “In This Space,” released earlier in the year. Her latest, “Symphony,” is a real treat that blends Leigh’s folk stylings and acapella-perfected vocals with some slight but impactful orchestral arrangements that confidently project a positive outlook on future, and reminiscent of a Spring the whole world is longing for in more ways than one.
