This weekend at Black Cat in DC is going to be a doozy – featuring globally renowned artist MOD SUN, pop-punk band girlfriends, and teen star turned guitar hero Tyler Posey! Let’s break it down, shall we?
Minnesota native MOD SUN has released 4 albums, 3 EPs, 6 mixtapes, and over 100 songs, gaining global recognition and widespread industry respect as he goes. He is known for his use of deeply personal lyrics to tell relatable stories about love, loss, addiction, and rebirth.
The band girlfriends is a pop-punk duo featuring rapper, singer, and actor Travis Mills with musician and entrepreneur Nick Gross. The power duo’s songs come from a deeply emotional place, creating an outlet for expression and emotional catharsis. Their music shares the relatable side of grief, letting everyone known that they are not alone in their uncertainty about life and the world around them.
Many may remember Tyler Posey as the young heartthrob actor from Teen Wolf, but the time since that show has revealed a different, edgier side of him. After years both on screen and on stage, Posey’s wholesomely rebellious, rock star persona is solidly shining through. In his debut EP “DRUGS”, Posey relates his struggles with substances and path to get clean in the most brutally honest, bear-it-all way possible. Mixing inspiration from artists and bands such as blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, and MOD SUN with his own unique twists, Posey has created a sound that is fully personalized to himself and his incredible story.
