Nikki Paige has released her newest single, “IMPORTANT,” which is an electric journey chronicling the struggles that come along with feeling less than and unsure of oneself.
Signed to Warner as a writer at the age of eleven, Paige has over fifteen years of musical experience. She began traveling the world with Barbara Orbison and learning from legends before her time. After a love-hate relationship with the music industry, her love of music stayed central. She released music that was meant to be made for people to relate to and, most importantly, to feel emotions – whether it be happy, mad, sad, funny, or anything you can feel whatsoever. And this is apparent in “IMPORTANT.”
The track consists of upbeat percussion that draws the listener in, and Paige assures, “This is not a hallucination.” Her vocals ultimately intensify, giving way to a steady sounding beat. This bold track emphasizes her importance and that honesty is the best policy.
Paige “created a song and titled it ‘IMPORTANT’ because she realized the entire time she was like everyone else, people who feel as if they are not important. If they were important, people would be there for them right? It is not unusual, it’s relatable. We can’t blame others for being lonely, even the singer herself. Just remember to be lonely, maybe isn’t so lonely. If we all feel that way at times, then are you so alone?”
“Don’t waste time on people that don’t want to spend time with you,” she advises.
