A rather creative musician from Marshfield, Wisconsin, Ryan Summers takes us to a dreamy, electronica-infested dreamscape on his new album, Undue Influence. Summers has some hallucinatory tunes for your listening enjoyment, be it the dancetastic “Holy Criminal” or the slow-moving, and yet somehow very soothing, album-capper “There Is Nothing for Me Here.”
In the otherworldly “The Curious Story of Brad Halsey,” who precisely Brad Halsey is—and why his story must be told, is left largely unanswered in this complex composition. However, you won’t be able to help wanting to know more as you peel back the layers of this compelling track (listen below). You are sure to hear echoes of Pink Floyd, NIN and Radiohead, and Summers rolls it all up together into something unique and highly toe-tapping.
