Budapest-native artist Saya Noé has released her new electric-pop single “Calamity” on April 18; “Calamity” launches Noé into her new era, as it is her first single of the year. The singer-writer’s solo project was officially launched in 2019 with her debut EP “Taboo”, preceding her debut album “Museum of Sins”, released in 2020.
Noé started her song-writing journey at the age of 14 when she switched playing violin for guitar; she later was accepted to the Budapest School of Music Technology where she has continued to write and produce her own music. In 2020, Noé was chosen by the Music Support Programme of the National Cultural Fund in Hungary for the creation of her first full-length album.
“Calamity” is one cinematic pop-noir single. The pop elements of electric sounds and bass drops add the dramatics of the narrative being told. The lyrics tell the story of star-cross criminals, questioning the morality of their actions, as well as the dangerous nature of their relationship. The production includes incredible story-telling elements: with police sirens running in the background of the chorus, the listener feels immersed in the story.
