The Alchemist
Born in Virginia, Raised in Maryland, and currently residing in Washington D.C., Alecia Renece embodies the spirit of the DMV music scene with her extensive artistic endeavors including, but not limited to her obvious passion for both music and photography.
Her latest single, “Sing (La La La),” shows her vocal and lyrical prowess with intrinsic harmonies from the very first note. The mood begins in a reflective and thoughtful place before taking on a happier more encouraging disposition, though the track feels a bit haunting from start to finish. It is reminiscent of Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me,” but instead of reliance on one another, Renece venerates the power of song.
