If you’re looking for straight rock tracks to jam to this summer, check out the latest singles from Baltimore, Md.-based indie band Words For Hands, “Sugar” and “Chain Reaction,” and the accompanying music video. The high-energy rock duo released their debut album “NOISE” a year prior, and now they are delivering an equally enjoyable sequel.
“Sugar” and “Chain Reaction,” as well as the music video for “Sugar,” are the first works that they have fully recorded, produced, and filmed all on their own.
The bright, upbeat rock backing paired with the solid but light vocals is reminiscent of artists like Matthew Sweet and The Decemberists while maintaining a unique sound. Words For Hands delivers a much more powerful sound than is expected from a duo, and their music video exemplifies the heartfelt meaning of the lyrics it accompanies.
